A Burger with a Spicy Kick!

BURGER TIME- rain or shine!

Labor day this year was a little rainy but that didn't stop my family from doing one of our favorite things when we all get together, BBQing. I was anxious to try a new product I had picked up on my last trip to Stella Lucy's Gluten-Free market- Southern Homestyle Tortilla Crumbs- the label suggested to use them in just about anything. I thought why not a burger with my favorite Rudi's Hamburger bun?

When dining out Celiacs are use to the magic word protein style (wrapped in lettuce) when ordering a burger, but with the discovery of Rudi's Gluten Free Bread line- I can enjoy a classic American burger like everyone else without losing my buns :)

Below is the Santa Fe Burger recipe-  putting together 2 of my favorite gluten free products, Rudi's Multigrain Hamburger buns and Southern Homestyle Tortilla Crumbs!

Santa Fe Burgers
Check out that Gluten Free Burger!

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups pepper jack cheese
1/2 cup Tortilla Crumbs
1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
1 tsp. ground cumin or chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
4 Rudi's Multigrain Hamburger buns

Combine ground beef, 1 cup cheese, Tortilla Crumbs, green onions, cumin, and garlic salt in medium bowl.

Shape into 4 patties; 4 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.

Grill patties, 5 minutes per side or to desired doneness.

Summer maybe coming to an end- but the grill should still be on! Enjoy!
